Ive used a test utility to confirm that rs3 machine received the magic packet whilst the machine was already on. Thread starter dannyboy27 Start date Sep 11, I think it may have to do with how the wakeup settings are governed from Windows.

Yeah they changed that behavior in Vista. I cant see anywhere in the bios that seems to have a setting like this I can't see any WOL options in the BIOS or manual, only wake on modem, but can't find a definitive answer on the Gigabyte site as to whether it would work.
So this only works while in sleep mode, and of course your power supply must be compatible, which you llan know yours is now.

However, the same command did not work once the machine was off. Have never got it working with this mobo thus far though. April 23, Forums New posts Search forums. [RESOLVED] Does GA 965P DS3 support Wake on Lan?
I've found that using any form of pattern match always causes the PC to boot up at random times. If not update, it could be a BIOS bug. Usually there is a setting in the BIOS like accept magic packet or something similar. A good command line program to use for waking up PCs using a magic packet is mc-wol.

Thanks for the feedback. I seem to recall a previous computer used to ha a light on on the mobo whilst it was off Wrath, on your HTPC is the second box greyed out when the first one is ticked, or is it different to Vista?

I'm wondering if it's maybe something to do with the power management settings on the NIC though. Also there is another setting just to allow a wakeup from shutdown which must be enabled as well.
